Types of Running Shoes

Cushioning shoes provide elevated shock absorption and minimal medial (arch side) support. They're best for runners who are mild pronators or supinators. Cushioning shoes are also good for neutral runners during off-pavement runs. Reason: Minor irregularities in surfaces such as dirt roads give feet a little variety from the repetitive, same-spot strikes they typically experience on hard surfaces.
Stability shoes help decelerate basic pronation. They're good for neutral runners or those who exhibit mild to moderate overpronation. They often include a "post" (see Shoe Construction 101, below) in the midsole.
Motion control shoes offer features such as stiffer heels or a design built on straighter lasts to counter overpronation. They're best for runners who exhibit moderate to severe overpronation.

Know Your Feet

Foot size: If you're unsure of your shoe size or if one foot is larger than the other, it's best to have your feet measured at REI or other shoe retailer with a Brannock device. (That's the flat metal tool with sliders that measure the length, width and the toe-to-ball length of the foot.) Whenever possible, try the shoe on to see if it fits. Shoe lasts (which determines shoe sizes, described below) vary by manufacturer and even from one shoe model to another. You may need a half-size or even a full size smaller or larger than you think.
Most men wear a D-width shoe; most women wear a B-width. You don't have to wear a shoe of your gender—the lasts are basically the same. Men: Try a women's shoe if you have a narrow foot. Women: Try a men's shoe if you have a larger or wider foot. If the shoe fits, wear it!
Arch shape: As you get out of the tub, shower or pool, take a look at the footprint you leave on the bathmat or cement. The shape of your footprint will indicate the type of arch you have. Your arch shape affects the way your foot moves as you run. - Cesarzafra.com

JS Wings 2.0 collaboration

After a long history of wearing sneakers from the adidas Originals JS Collection, A$AP Rocky formed a friendship with designer Jeremy Scott that has spawned this "Black Flag" JS Wings 2.0 collaboration.

For inspiration, Scott looked toward Rocky's lifestyle, attitude, interests and personal style. Cues were pulled from Rocky's Long. Live. A$AP album artwork, which features a black and white version of the American Flag.

Scott chose an all-black canvas, adding embroidered stars and stripes to create his own take on the American flag as an ode to A$AP Rocky.

Take your first look at the A$AP x Jeremy Scott shoe below and stick with Sole Collector for details regarding its upcoming release.

Jeremy and adidas teased the shoe

Both Jeremy and adidas teased the shoe earlier today on their respective Instagram accounts but we got the first look at the full shoe thanks to our friends at Highsnobiety. The adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott x A$AP Rocky JS WINGS 2.0 Black Flag sneakers are all-black canvas high tops with Jeremy's infamous wing detailing jutting from the lacing and shoe upper toward the heel of the shoe. The inward-facing lining of the wings are covered with black leather (#LUXE), and the Rocky touch comes by way of embroidered five-point stars—a nod to the A$AP Mob black-and-white American flag. The image teases that the shoes are "coming soon" without any hint to even a ballpark release date. Though, something about the news' proximity to New York Fashion Week (it's NEXT WEEK, y'all!!) makes us think it really won't be long now.

Do you think A$AP Rocky and Jeremy Scott will unveil these new adidas Originals sneakers at New York Fashion Week?

1985 - Decade basketball sneaker

The Decade was highly sought-after upon release and later versions have been embraced by a new generation. Coming in low and hi top versions, this basketball sneaker is a retro-styled shoe still holds plenty of attitude.

LA Trainer

The LA Trainer coincided with the Olympic Games and was the beginning of customisable footwear featuring adjustable cushioning plugs in the midsole. In recent times these plugs are simply used as a design detail for that much-loved vintage look.
